something ends it all, be it war, or be it virus,
sends us to our God, be it Jesus, or Osiris
it will raze us into powder and spirals left in the sand
mixed into the water and blown out across the land
species precedes all of us, remnants buried low
fossils pressed, bones we accept, and structures we don't know
how vain we are to believe we're the pinnacle of earth
when trillions prior, with no trace, have been here since its birth
fields of war that lead to nothing hold no memories
urban sprawls now fertilizing hundred foot tall trees
state of the art bridge supports emerge upon the shores
useless intact skeletons, we will be dinosaurs
all our family values, every man, woman and child
broken down to carbon and absorbed into the wild
kingdoms, nations, plagues, and power, and in God we trust
